Please remember that there are countless wooden drawers made by countless manufacturers, so you need to be prepared for differences and other smaller variations.

Step 1.
Mark the rear horizontal position, vertical position, and front position of the track with a pencil, then measure the projection.
Step 2.
Cut through the middle of the old track using any small saw (coping saw, hacksaw, etc.) and miter box. Afterwards, pull and pry the two ends loose. Use wire cutters to snip off nail ends.
NOTE: You may tap out the nails on the front of the board and use these holes to install a new track. Some kit's offer installation without having to remove these nails.
Step 3.
Place the new track with the backplate attached into the cabinet and test the fit. Check if the length is correct; the track should fit snugly but not tightly. Mark and cut the front if necessary.
Step 4.
Position steel "L" brackets and mark their location on the side of the track. Remove the track and make a mark for bracket holes.
Step 5.
Pre-mark holes and install the screws through the "L" bracket into the wood; Use no. 8 x 3/8" sheet metal screws.
The front of the bracket should be flush with the front of the track. If not, double check the length and reposition the track and carefully mark the bracket holes. Open and close the drawer to test the smoothness of the track. It should not be catching on anything. If so, go back and examine the track.
Your drawer track is now repaired and ready to be used.
